Facilitator: Itzy Ramirez

Itzy Ramirez is a UX/UI Designer who is inspired by her ancestral lands in Mexico. Learning from indigenous communities in Mexico and Central America has helped her think differently and approach design with purpose. Itzy incorporates her ancestor’s collaborative methods into her work to help organizations create products that have a positive impact on humanity.

Belem Medina

Belem Medina is a creative at heart, surviving capitalism with a strategic mind and asking all of the rabbit hole questions at work and in life. She started her career in Architecture where she quickly discovered her passion for the user-focused parts of the design process. Following her relentless curiosity has led Belem into UX research where she fulfills her endless questions and challenges the biases of the spaces that keep missing the mark with marginalized groups.

Samanta Aquino

Samanta Aquino is a Latina Senior Product Designer based in Stockholm, currently working in the FinTech space. She has over 10 years of experience and has worked in startups, agencies, bigger tech companies, B2B, B2C, and a variety of industries and team sizes. She’s passionate about web accessibility and helping other designers overcome their career struggles. Every week, she makes time to mentor designers and create design content to share what she knows. Outside of work, she strives to “do less” and embrace Sweden’s balanced living.

Izhar Buendia

Izhar Buendia started his career in media production working in small TV studios, designing websites, and creating marketing posters. He then stumbled into the field of user experience design where he could further explore the intersection of human behaviour and technology. This led him to design tools for unique environments like power plants and airplanes at General Electric, cloud native technology at D2iQ, and restaurants management tools at OpenTable. He now uses design thinking at Netflix to curate and launch thousands of titles to 200 million members across 190 countries. Izhar is also passionate about making design and technology accessible for anyone, especially folks from marginalized communities.
